Group Accountant
This newly created role is ideal for a professionally qualified accountant who enjoys Financial Accounting and Group consolidation.
You could be looking to leave Accountancy Practice and looking for your first role in industry or currently working in a similar role in industry.
The role requires a confident excel user, a clear and confident communicator who is passionate about accuracy, solving problems and getting the job done.
Experience of managing, testing or working within SOX controls would also be useful (Sarbanes-Oxley).
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Ensure all UK and Group consolidated internal and external reporting deadlines are met.
- Delivery of individual entity and group consolidated management accounts pack for review by Group Controller.
- Includes actual P&L/BS, forecast P&L/BS, cashflows, BS recs, inventory KPIs.
- Ownership of consolidated group cashflow forecast.
- Support of day-to-day bookkeeping activities in UK
- Support the UK accounting team to ensure a smooth, clean and three-day month end close process
- Preparation of monthly management reporting pack
- Fully reconciled and supported Balance Sheet
- Support other entities with delivering same
- Manage annual audit process for Group.
- Provide statutory information for UK statutory accounts
- Preparation of Group statutory accounts including group consolidation schedules and reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
- Support group audit work for subsidiaries
Manage company Tax affairs including:
- UK Corporation Tax
- UK VAT – UK + EU
- EU VAT
- P11d returns
- Global Tax Planning
Assist Group Financial Controller in supporting and developing strength of finance teams and accounting controls in group subsidiaries:
- Maintain documentation of business processes and controls.
- Regular testing of controls.
- Management of company expenses policies
There will also be various interesting immediate and future projects to take ownership of.
Location: Harlow
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
