Financial Controller

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running and control of the group finance function within the business (domestic & international), while actively engaging in finance business partnering.

 

Your primary focus will be on providing full management and financial accounting reporting, overseeing cash-flow reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, and compliance measures, including the year-end group audit.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, managing accounts, general ledger, cash-flow and payroll.
  • Ensure strict compliance with accounting standards, policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes for accurate and timely financial reporting, including overseeing the year-end group audit.
  • Enhance the efficiency of finance processes, systems, and controls across the business.
  • Work with external tax advisors to prepare tax workings for the group and manage tax filings.
  • Have the accounts signed and filed by set companies house and HMRC deadlines.
  • Manage and improve reporting.
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations for key lines, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets. Holding monthly P&L review meetings with site stakeholders and directors.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting.
  • Support FP&A initiatives, monitoring financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Generate precise and timely financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with senior management for effective business partnership.
  • Strategic Financial Insights.
  • Offer strategic financial guidance, aiding decision-making processes for senior management and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and mitigate financial risks, proposing risk management strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
    Team Leadership and Development.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, nurturing collaboration and continuous learning

 

The ideal candidate will be CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified and have experience of working in a group of businesses.
