Group Financial Controller
I’m excited to be working with an established manufacturing business. They are looking for an experienced Group Financial Controller to join their senior management team.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong team focus. Offering broad exposure across financial control, operational finance, reporting, cash flow management, and business partnering.
Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you’ll ideally have experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or stock-led environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial performance, strengthening controls, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly management accounts preparation, reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations including sales ledger, purchase ledger, general ledger, and banking activities
- Manage cash flow forecasting and support working capital optimisation
- Oversee payroll, pensions, and employee benefits processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, VAT regulations, and internal controls
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and performance analysis
- Support procurement and stock-related financial processes
- Drive process improvement across finance systems, controls, and reporting
- Prepare information for audit and ensure accurate financial record keeping
- Attend operational meetings and provide financial support to senior stakeholders
- Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional with strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to operate effectively within a growing operational business.
You will demonstrate:
- Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
- Strong management accounting and financial control experience
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong Excel and reporting capability
- Ability to work collaboratively across finance, operations, and commercial teams
- A proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused approach
