Finance Manager
StormX Recruitment is working with a growing business to recruit a Finance Manager on a full-time, hybrid basis. This is a hands-on role focused on month-end close, management reporting, AP oversight, and strengthening financial controls.

Role purpose
You will take ownership of the monthly management information (MI) pack and month-end close, oversee the Accounts Payable function, ensure accurate journal posting and balance sheet integrity, and help strengthen finance processes, controls, and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Own the month-end close timetable.
- Produce and take full ownership of the monthly MI pack (P&L).
- Provide clear, insightful commentary on key movements.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across reporting.
- Manage the Accounts Payable team.
- Ensure accurate invoice processing and query resolution.
- Oversee supplier reconciliations and aged creditor management.
- Drive process improvements and automation.
- Prepare and review month-end journals.
- Manage intercompany reconciliations where required.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support queries.
- Design and implement finance policies and procedures.
- Strengthen internal controls and approval processes.
- Lead initiatives to improve reporting timelines and accuracy.
- Support external audit and controls testing.
- Prepare VAT and CIS returns.
People management
- Manage AP team and relationships.
- Build strong relationships with budget holders.
- Present MI and explain financial drivers and actions.
Profile
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
- Strong month-end and management reporting background.
- Working knowledge of Power BI.
- Solid understanding of journals and balance sheet control.
- Proven experience improving finance processes and controls.
Location:
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
