Accounts Assistant

(6-month FTC with the possibility of permanent).

 

Hybrid working available following probation.

Based in Stevenage, this busy and growing commercial business is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their friendly team on an initial 6-month fixed term contract. The company have an excellent history of developing staff and encouraging progression.

 

Above all else, you will be an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail and a hardworking, professional attitude.

 

Ideally you will have experience of working in a busy finance department with knowledge of purchase ledger duties and potentially having touched on credit control and sales ledger.

 

This role could also suit both an aspiring AAT studier who has an excellent attitude and is keen to learn and also a more experienced candidate who is keen to bring their knowledge to this role.

 

Duties will include:

• Purchase Ledger: Posting of purchase ledger invoices, including coding and authorisation.
• Resolving queries in an efficient manner.
• Document scanning of all invoices onto the system.
• Sales Ledger: Raise sales invoices on a daily basis.
• Credit Control: Assist in chasing of debt and reconciling accounts.
• Assist with any other ad-hoc duties as required.

 

Other key elements will include the ability to pick up and learn new systems quickly.

You will also need experience of using excel and other office-based functions.

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and organise workload effectively
• Good spreadsheet skills
• 5 GCSE’s or equivalent, inc. Maths
• Attention to detail and ability to resolve issues on own initiative
• Fast, accurate data inputting skills


Location: Stevenage
Salary: £24,000 - £25,000
