Accounts Assistant

Our client is a fast growing business who are based in great Dunmow and due to restructuring are looking for a newly created Accounts Assistant vacancy to join their busy finance team.

 

The role would suit a candidate with strong excel skills and all round ‘hands on’ experience. The role will offer the right person the chance in the future to learn and develop.

 

Hybrid working would be offered, but initially during your period of learning the role you would be based in the office.

 

The main duties:

  • To ensure all expenditure across the business is approved and matched to PO numbers
  • To ensure all cash and card receipts are reconciled in a timely manner
  • To ensure consistent, precise, and timely accounting procedures are adhered to for the group
  • To develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • To support and assist with annual external auditing and statutory accounts process.
  • Identify risks that the group may faces and advise on how to prevent, monitor, detect and resolve them.
  • Ensure cards within cashbooks are kept accurate and currant
  • Resolve internal and external cash queries
  • Ensure all invoices are posted to the correct site and/or statutory company
  • Manage payments according to BACs and/or Priority Payment
  • Assist with yearend audit and the preparation of the company’s statutory account
  • Any other ad hoc work

 

The main requirements are:

  • Initiative and a can-do attitude are essential
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in intermediate use of Excel
  • Experience of working to tight reporting deadlines
  • Experience of Sage 200

Location: Dunmow
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000
