Credit Controller
StormX Recruitment are working exclusively with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced credit professional who enjoys taking ownership of their ledger, building strong customer relationships and driving cash collection.
Working as part of an established Credit Control team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, reducing aged debt and ensuring payments are collected efficiently and professionally.
- Managing and monitoring customer accounts and outstanding invoices
- Proactively contacting customers by phone, email and written correspondence
- Investigating and resolving account queries, discrepancies and disputes
- Maintaining accurate records of collection activity
- Working closely with internal teams to resolve issues affecting payment
- Escalating accounts for legal action, write-off or further recovery where appropriate
- Processing invoices and purchase orders through customer portals
- Reviewing accounts, investigating unusual transactions and requesting refunds where required
- Maintaining accurate customer records and contact information
- Supporting improvements to credit control processes and procedures
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation and better communication
We’re looking for someone with:
- 4–5+ years’ experience in credit control, accounts receivable or a similar role
- Strong understanding of credit control and basic accounting principles
- Good Excel and financial systems experience
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- A determined, results-focused approach
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
- A genuine interest in improving processes and finding better ways of working
AAT or another relevant accounting qualification, or experience with debt collection legislation, would be advantageous.

Location: London (3 days in office)
Salary: £35,000-£38,000
