Deputy Finance Manager

My client is seeking to appoint a full-time, enthusiastic and well-qualified Deputy Finance Manager to form part of their Finance team.

 

Working closely with and supporting the Director of Finance in managing the school’s finance systems & processes and in providing technical financial support to staff and students in the school.

 

The successful candidate will ideally possess experience of working in a school finance office and/or business office, with relevant technical financial and accounting experience.

 

A flexible and adaptable approach to working with staff and students and the ability to manage their own workload to meet challenging deadlines will be required.

Key tasks will include

  • Deputising for the Director of Finance in his/her absence, ensuring efficient running of the Finance Office
  • Carrying out high level financial accounting functions and procedures in line with those required on completion of intermediate level of ACCA/AAT Accounting qualification (to trial balance)
  • Working with the Director of Finance and budget holders to prepare the annual budget and to forecast year-end income and expenditure at the end of quarters 2 and 3.
  • Accurate and proficient operation of financial management/accounting software packages, Microsoft Office suite and any other software packages used by the school as required.
  • Working with the Director of Finance in maintaining the schools bank accounts
  • Management of Administration assistant
  • Timely and accurate processing of purchase orders, purchase invoices received, ensuring verification of price, delivery and authorisation then entering onto accounting software
  • Generating timely and accurate suggested payments report and collating relevant invoices
  • Producing regular automated BACs runs with remittance advices against properly authorised invoices, ensuring use of appropriate signatories and making payments
  • Processing timely and accurate sales invoices and credit notes, ensuring verification of rate/price and authorisation then entering onto accounting software and issuing to customers keeping the sales ledger is up to date

Location: West Ealing
Salary: £37,000 - £41,000
